He is an old friend and a very respectable builder. I have no worries about his work, he builds some amazing engines. Things happen. It wasn't a shop I picked at random. My family has known him for years. I appreciate everyone's concern, but everything is right as rain!

All fixed and in the process of putting it back together. Should be running by this weekend if the wife lets me!

I have followed along this whole time and kept me 2 cents worth but I have to say I have built many many olds engines and used many different rod bolts and nut combinations and never had them hit anything, UNTIL I put a windage tray on and the nuts touched a few places and I had to bend and grind the windage tray to get the clearance. Anyway I sure hope the problems are solved and I think everybody is eager to hear it running the right way!

None more than myself! It is almost done. I'll probably fire it either tomorrow or Saturday! Stay tuned!

Thanks for the support!

THE BAD= 2 builds
THE UGLY= any pics of the carnage? Pics would be a great ref.

Craig, glad to see this is all working out. We including myself are quick to bash the mechanic. Sorry, apologies, as Ive been in his shoes so I understand **it happens. So long as he's standing by it all and making it right speaks volumes about your friend. Nothing blew up, nobody's bleeding and you didn't get screwed. Alls good. Follow up and close this thread when your making tire smoke!
