66 Toronado engine help please

They're Standard Bluestreak. Box says made in mexico. The rubbing block is a reddish color resin like material. Similar to plastic but seems stronger.

If the "rubbing block" on those points is wearing that fast, they are junk.

I would try those ACCEL HD points that Joe P uses. I don't remember what number they were. They could have been for a Corvette.

Ok thanks I'll check them out. I was looking into pertronix a bit. What do you think of that setup?

Let me explain it this way.... My '66 Olds Toronado Delux has points in it. It cruises at 75 MPH on the highway, runs and starts good. I did have a condenser go bad once. Why would I even consider changing to anything else ?

Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on Pertronix.

Yeah they're really easy once you understand them. I think the ones I have are just defective. Everything's lookin really nice on yours. Mine is missing the rocker pannel and wheel arch chrome. But the body is straight otherwise.
