It's comcastic.

I don't have any intentions of racing this car, so I was never worried too much about a lot of that stuff.

Definitely looks like the low compression piston to me.

No different than any other cylinder.

Find the diameter,

and the depth.

Plug them into the calculator,

Convert cubic inches to cubic centimeters.

Norm,
Put down the vernier and grab a finger nail clipper.
Those pistons look similar to the ones I used. Premium fuel pistons.

I finally got my money right to get the machine work done, get all the parts and start putting the beast back together. Definitely learned a lesson and will be a little more thorough and careful this time.

She helped him stage the pic.

Just wondering, what changes will you make on the "new" build ?

I'm going to start by using the right pistons.
Other than that, I don't really plan to change anything.
I've had the crank machined and the rods & block checked out. I'm just going to take my time putting it all back together, carefully checking all the bearing tolerances.
Oh, and I'm definitely going to degree the camshaft this time.

Definitely starting to show signs of skirt scuffing in a couple cylinders, but nothing major. I think that the fuel wash was a result of continuing to tinker with it unaware that it was in fact the wrong pistons. And also led to the demise of a bearing.

Just FYI, I ended up getting the pistons and rings from Kanter.

Just an update for everyone that helped. I finally got her back on the road this past weekend. Took my time, checked and rechecked everything. I've got it purring like a tiger. Oil pressure is strong, sounds great, runs nice. I have a little hesitation at part throttle that I can't get rid of, so I'm still trying to decide on keeping the Edelbrock or rebuilding the old Q-Jet. Thanks again for everyone that helped, hopefully it will stick this time around. I'm getting her cleaned up for a show this weekend, I'll try to get some pictures up before the weekend is over. I'll post them in my thread over at major builds and projects.
