HI All: My oil dipsticks tube become loose, I can't remember if it has to have an o-ring or else which can be the cause of this. Thanks in advance. Best. Raul.

It may be cracked and ready to break.

Most times the bulge ring that goes into the block is too large and must be ground down slightly in order to get it into the hole in the block.

Look at your dipstick tube. There are two formed beads and a flange. The tube needs to go all the way into the block until the flange seats against the block. It's likely loose because it isn't all the way in.

Well, that's unusual. Most times the two beads are too large and won't even go into the block. You can try to flatten the bead area slightly, which would ovalize the tube and make it larger in one direction. Also consider a little RTV under the flange when you insert it.

Modest sandpaper abrasion of the two beads then placement of the tube in the (deep) freezer.
