1966 425 rebuild kit

Has anyone used Clegg Engines for a master rebuild kit?

I would beware of any full kit for a 425. Most vendors don't realize that it's different than a 455 and could send you improper parts. Cam is different, lifters can be different. Piston, rods and cranks are different. Not sure about bearings. Better to contact an Olds expert like Mark Remmel or Andy Mark to get the proper parts. Otherwise you could be in the middle of a rebuild and have your machinist call you and say these parts don't fit.

Also you might contact costpenn on this site. He owns a company (Enginetech) that sells rebuild kits. Or search for their website.

Mahle makes an off the shelf piston kit for 425’s, Molnar makes rods. Everything else can be gotten fairly easily.

I assume you are looking to a stock rebuild. I did a 425 about a year ago and had no problems sourcing parts through my normal supplier. Ask your machine shop if they can get you what you need. That way you will be fairly sure to get the correct parts.

Where are you located ?

I live in Oklahoma. My machine shop was able to locate me a set of 40 oversized Pistons.

They should be able to get you an entire engine kit.
