Rebuilding a 1961 Olds 394 engine, heads (#20) are both cracked I do have a 1964 394 Starfire eng with heads #23. Can I use these 1964 heads on my 1961 motor. don't want to get them redone if they won't fit. Thanks.

Thanks Joe, sorry for the double post. For all those that may get to this post looking for an answer to my question, I called Tony at Ross Racing today & he informed me that the 64 heads (#23) will bolt right up as will the 61 intake manifold.

 

I have an old car magazine somewhere that talks about hopping up the 394 and about swapping heads etc to hot rod the engine with stock parts. I will see if I can dig it up and what info is there.

 

It would be interesting to see what suggestions the article has.
