Dashboard Disassembly 02 Alero

Greetings!

My daughter's Alero had the 4 way flasher switch push through the dash and fall behind the dashboard. The outer ring cracked and the switch just pushed right through the ring and fell somewhere out of sight.

Rather than try to poke around through the hole and create a short circuit I'd like to remove the center air vent and see if I can move the duct aside to retrieve the switch. I have no manual so if someone has the answer to removing the ventwork I'm appreciative.

If someone has a better plan I'm up for suggestions.

Thanks

I had to pull my sons. I can't remember for sure but I think there is a tab in the side of the vent. It's triangle shaped and has two relief cuts in it to act like a spring.

Look to the side of the vent where it pivots.

I also remember something strange about that vent and the tab fighting me and the ductwork being uncooperative. Sorry it was a long time ago.

thanks for getting back. took the bezel off from around the speedometer and you could see into the space where the switch fell. It's back together for now but there are some broken tabs on the switch and the ring.

off to the bone yard to find another Alero to commandeer those items.
