1968 Olds Engine Paint Process

I'm currently restoring a 68 442 convertible and need a little help with the engine painting process. In 68 was the 400 G motor painted as an assembled long block (intake, valve covers, oil pan and timing cover)? Trying to figure out if the black oxide fasteners where painted.
Thanks

The engines were completely assembled, except for the installation of the distributor, coil, carburetor, fuel pump, alternator, starter, power steering pump, and A/C compressor.
Then the engine was electrostatically painted on it's way out the door of the engine plant.
The " accessories " mentioned above were added at the car assembly plant just before the engine was dropped in the chassis.
If you follow this procedure, all the bolts should come out the right color.

My 67 442 had paint on the starter and the dist.
The by pass hose was painted a little bit also.
The oil filter was also painted and the bottom of the oil pan would be lightly dusted with paint.
