68 442 coupe vinyl top stud template/measurements for spacing

Does anyone have a diagram or measurements showing where the studs/holes for the vinyl top molding go on the upper trunk lid on a 68 442? Thanks!

I can help. I’m working on the same thing. I’m in Rock Hill. I’ll get you something over the weekend. Or, you can stop by.

Thank you sir! My paint and body guy may still have the old trunk lid to use as a template but if you get a chance to send me anything I’d appreciate it. I’m in Indian Land actually. Where are you in your restoration on your car?

Hi Kcastl03,
Do you have the metal simulated vinyl grain trim for that spot?
Are the holes drilled in the rear quarters for the L shaped cast chrome peak ends?
These 3 pieces mounted to the car will give you a good idea where the holes go.

All the other parts of the car are drilled and setup for the roof I just had to get a new trunk lid. I do have the simulated vinyl metal strip as well.

You should be able to use the metal trim as the template for the stainless trim.

1.25” down from the top edge of trunk lid. You can use the simulated vinyl piece to line up the 6 studs and 2 threaded studs.
