I guess I could do some research to find out if he still exists 45 years later and ask questions!
I'm only mentioning the roof rack as an example, not to imply that is what the G is for. I doubt the rack was removed!
The POP could possibly shed some light. Can we get a pic?

Kurt, I tried several time to get a pic, but kept coming out overexposed. I will type out what the plate reads....

T719917 338655W439655
WJ-260 LA-14171-R
LL-960 303100

Hope this helps...if you need the info on the other plate(name plate), let me know! Also, I have a 1965 Olds Options and Accessories booklet that has codes etc. Guess if I could find my build sheet it would help?

Soo it has taken so long to get back to this.
Doubt you'll find a build sheet, as it is extremely rare to find one in a Lansing car.

338655W439655 VIN I'm sure the W is an M!
WJ-260 Jetaway trans #
LA-14171-R Body # and build date month (L=November '64)
LL-960 Paint and interior Trim Code
303100 this are option combinations, each number means something
3 power steering and brakes
0 no cruise
3 2-speed wiper & washer, and tilt type mirror

From what I heard the instructions at Lansing were to put them in the trash. Who knows why, but that seems to be what happened! Since their purpose was finished, it is totally plausible that someone though they were doing a better job to dispose of them rather than "litter" the car.
