Previous Owner Syndrome, or a terrible mechanic. "All we have to do to make it fit is grind off some splines!" Dumbsh*t.

Turns out the Hillman parts work with just 30 seconds or so of Dremel cutting to the correct length.

Chevy clips, but they'll retain your Olds belt buckles too.

I haven't calculated the margins, but I'm guessing the dealers weren't losing money...

Slightly world weary but goes beyond the Chassis Service Manual, Fisher Body Manual, + Parts Accessories Catalogs.

Go for the originals where ever you may find them.

Notice the shape differences in the shape of the grease fittings. Latter day parts may still show these differences.

The thin metal and nylon tip parts of the shifter are very susceptible to wear/breakage. I usually put the car in neutral to remove the T handle.

Yes, you could fit a few bodies in the trunk, but also good for grocery runs

The T-handle was used from at least '64 to '66, but the logo on the panel in front was Starfire in '64 and went to Rocket in '65

225/70R15 BF Goodrich radial TA's on rear of my '66 Stafire. Better than the original 14x6 by a good measure, but I decided to upsize again.

Bulbs labeled and organized so they're easy to find when you need 'em. Notes to me on the lid so I don't have to look it up every time.

Some of the wind noise in convertibles can be attributed to where the top, vent window and windshield all come together. A good seal here should help quiet things down.

I'm hoping the thicker rubber casting of the Steele piece will create a better seal against my convertible windows.
