Unusual swap meet find

I picked up a pair of 15x7 SSII wheels at a swap meet yesterday. I haven't seen or read anything about them and was wondering if they were factory or modified.

15x7 Chrome plated center section with painted wheel rim. Both the center section and the rim are stamped with the date M58. Definately not a Wheel Vintiques wheel, as I have some of those and this one is different.

Thoughts????

The only SSII/III wheels ever made with a 5x5" bolt circle were the hand made custom ones used on the actual 1977 Pace Cars (not on the replicas sold to the public). You are more likely to find a W27 axle for sale than one of these custom made wheels.

The 1977-1985 D88s came with the same 5x4.75" bolt circle as the A-body cars except for cars with the HD brakes. The SSII/III wheels used on those cars were 5x4.75".

I think I figured it out! I believe these wheels are 78 or 79 Delta 88 custom sport wheels.
They are factory chrome centers with painted rims and trim ring.

Am I right?

your correct. two versions were produced. one with silver painted rim/chrome center and for trim rings (early version) and fancier full chrome rim & center with black painted inserts, no trim ring (later version).

Look nice on cutlass's and delta's
