Unusual shifter?

Unusual shifter?
There is a 69 442 on ebay (link attached at message end) that has what looks like a Dual Gate shifter in the factory 69 auto console. I know that isn't a factory setup. I thought they weren't supposed to fit that good, given Jamesbo's previous link on putting one in. Any thoughts? Seems like maybe it is the shifter from a 70-72?

Well, the workmanship on that car appears to be high quality, and I'll give them credit for a very nice installation of a 1970-72 dual gate in the 69 console. You have to wonder how much the "numbers matching" claim is worth when EVERYTHING else has been changed, however....
This car illustrates the problem with custom mods. You make the mods for your own tastes, but it's highly unlikely that someone else will value them as much as you do. If this car sells, I'm sure it will be for far less than the seller has invested in it.

Well.....the headlights are kinda cool. Not really my style but you gotta give the guy credit for making it look halfway decent.
But the hood.......nothing looks bad with that hood. It was the best hood ever put on a car.....to this day.....period. Nope....don't even try arguing...because you're wrong. The best. Period.
Have a good one,
bob
