Is a Nodular Iron Crank unusual in a '72 455?

I pulled the oil pan on my '72 455, and was suprised to find a Nodular Crank. I though those were used on the '68 to '70 engines? Was it fairly common on a '72 as well? Came out of a Vista Cruiser.... Thanks. Tom.

Pretty common crank.
While the pan is off, pull the #4 main cap off and inspect the bearings and crank. That's usually the worst one. Retorque it in the exact same position to 120 lbft

I did actually pull the #4 cap (just picked one at random). Crank looks nice. A little wear on the ends of the bearing. I'm planning to replace all the crank and rod bearings. Not sure about the cam bearings. Will the cam bearings survive in the hot tank (or whatever cleaning procedure)?

They were all nodular iron. The "N" shows it was cast on the night shift.

It says in the Olds FAQ crankshaft I.D. Wiki that the 455 crank could be nodular iron or plain iron and that the N means nodular? Is it also in need of correction?
