Will a 225-60-16 tire with a 16x8 wheel fit the front of 1965 cutlass with stock suspension? Thanks for your help

I am running a 235/60/15 on the front of a heavily lowered '66 F-85 w/o any problems (similar overall height)

Doc Are you running an eight inch wheel? Never mind . I just saw in your list of items,that you are running a seven inch rim.

...with a wider tire, should be a similar foot print depending on backspacing.

Just to run the numbers, a 225/70-14, which is a commonly used tire for these cars, is 26.40" nominal diameter. The 225/60-16 is 26.63" nominal diameter and the same width, so I'd say this will be fine, assuming a near zero offset on the wheels.

I am running a 215/50/17x8 wheel/tire and my tire hits my fender on a hard turn
It's a 65 cutlass 50 year old stick suspension still under it

What's the offset on your wheels?

Joe I do not know the offset. The owner is trying to find specs as we speak. These wheels are used and came off a 96 S-10 Torque thrust16x8

I am not sure I can measure them if you can tell me where to measure

When I bought the I could chose a 0-+6 if I remember correct and I did 0 in front and the +6 in there rear to get a deeper out side dish
