SSII Argent Silver rattle can option....Rustoleum Soft iron
I needed a quick solution for my extra set of rims- None of my local places had the proven paints in stock so I tried Rustoleum Universal Metallic rattle can. Seems a shade darker than original yet really nice low sheen and good metallic mix. In case you can't find the other rustoleum products or duplicator cans...this works.
Please excuse the crappy paint job....these are roller wheels....fast and ugly was the goal.
Thanks

No problem but as an FYI you really only need a can or two at the most. I did 8 rims the other day with a few thin coasts of the rust-oleum and then at least a couple of coats of Argent. Each rim has to have 5 -7 thin coats on them and I still have paint left in each of the cans.
I bought 4 can's originally of the Argent as somewhere it said you will need a can per wheel - not unless you plan on painting the wheel ever day for a year.
Same goes for the engine paint. I think they recommended 4 cans of the blue. I might have used 1 1/4.

yes, but as you can see from the images above (Including the color ShamusJ Uses) the Rust-oleum looks perfect on its own. Some may say it looks closer to the Argent color of the early 70s than the Argent itself. You can see in my pic the top rim is darker. I'm fine with a darker color as the darker Argent goes well with the colors of my cars. But the Rust-oleum its a perfect match for a bit lighter variation. I have seen light colored rims and even darker colored that i have - I'm sure it all depended on the batch of the paint, fading, thickness of coverage etc.
I found an Argent power-coat color too. My W30s have rims I powder-coated first then misted with Argent. You could not tell the difference until you were about 3 feet away which rim was covered over with Argent and which was just poweder-coated.
By the way for 4 bucks a can I'd buy one can that AhamusJ used and one I used and see which one you like the best
