68 Cutlass Argent + Silver Paint

Hello,

New to the forum, and it has already helped me a bunch!

I want to repaint my stock SSII 14X6 wheels on my 68 Supreme on the cheap and was wondering if anyone knows of a spray can color/brand that would work for the original (or close) Argent color as well as the raised silver part since 68's do not use the chrome moldings?

Also, does anyone sell a masking kit for the raised silver painted section of the wheel or am I just going to have to mask, trim and paint it myself?

Thanks guys

The original gray is a crappy match to just about every body paint color in 68. I used Duplicolor Machinery Gray. It's much darker & matches just about every color well.

If you really want the original color there are 3 or 4 Duplicolor grays and the lightest one is the closest match.

The original silver was hand painted & looked it.

OK, thanks. That's a start. I think even I couldn't screw up replicating a crappy paint job, but I shouldn't understimate myself.

You happen to have any pics of your wheels floating around on here?

Mike,

What size wheel/tire did you use? I couldn't make out the size in your photo.

Thanks,
Brian

245 60 15's all the way around. They're late 70's SSIII's that I sand blasted & repainted
