Vista Questions ('69)

I just got a '69 Vista Cruiser, my first Vista, and I am getting tremendous pressure build up in the fuel tank/system. Is this normal or do I maybe have the wrong cap??? It's like it needs to be vented, or if it is vented, it may be bad. Seems scary the amount of pressure that blasts past the cap when opened after driving, even a short distance.

Also the glove box door is missing the emblem, I assume it read Vista Cruiser as the Cutlass would have read. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks.

It needs to be vinted. I had the same problem when I first got mine. Just drill a small hole in the cap and you should be fine. You don't want to run the risk of the tank expanding under pressure.

The glove box door emblem should read "Vista Cruiser" in script.

Cool thanks! I thought that would work, but then wondered why it was not vented to begin with.

That's supposed to have a vented cap to begin with, and four sun visors.

You need the correct glove box door emblem or you don't know what model car you have when you're sitting inside of the car.

Yep, got the four sunvisors... I suppose if I never look back it does kinda have the feel of a Cutlass, so yes the emblem would help me to know what I am driving

The glove box emblem is on the passenger side of the vehicle so that the passengers may be impressed with the opulence of the ride that they are currently in- or it could be for RHD people to realize that they are not in command without a steering wheel!!!
