1970?? Are you sure of the model year? I ask this because 1970 is without question, the most valuable year for any Oldsmobile, especially the Vista Cruiser. You see, it's the last year for the high compression engines, and there are son exclusive "one year only" details on the 1970 Vista. One very important feature on 1970 Vista Cruisers is the tail light lenses. Though they are essentially the same as '71-'72 lenses, only the 1970 lenses have the metal fins attached to them. When I restored my 1970 Vista Cruiser, I was lucky enough to find NOS 1970 tail light lenses with the metal fins on them. Also, 1968 through 1970 had a chrome "grab handle" on the exterior of the tailgate. '71's and 72's do not have this handle. $1500.00 is an amazing price for an actual 1970 Vista Cruiser. It's even great if it's not a 1970. I know it's been 7 years since you posted this , but I'd like to hear the outcome of your decision anyway. I hope you bought that car, and I'd love to see pictures of it and correspond further about it with you. I'm a self-proclaimed "authority" on Vista Cruisers and was known as the "Vista Cruiser Guy" to several members of the Florida Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America back in the 1990's.

Maybe we should get together! I'm also considered one of the premier authorities on the 2nd-generation Vista Cruiser, and am the "Moderator East" (co-president) of the GM Skywagon Club. My club's "Moderator West", Warren, is an authority on the 1st-generation cars.

Best wishes,
