Vista exhaust

Hey everyone,
I have a 68 Vista with 350 cid engine. Has anyone found a source for a bolt on dual exhaust system for these cars? I’d prefer the pipes exit behind the rear tires, not at the bumper.

Thanks

That's an essential, not a preference. If you do at-the-bumper, you will get a bit of exhaust smell coming in around the tailgate window. And with the window down you'll have virtually direct exhaust into the car. If you have an air deflector, it will only help a bit.

I'm not sure about a pipe supplier. Did you ask Waldron?

Hearthrob made my exhaust but it was a bit expensive and doesn't fit well.

On my 70 vista cruiser I used a flowmaster kit for elcamino and it worked great. I used head pipes from pypes exhaust. Steve

The only difference between a Vista and a Cutlass as far as exhaust fitment is wheelbase. I've simply welded in a section of straight pipe to extend the Cutlass pipes the extra 9" (121" wheelbase vs 112"). I use ElCamino tail pipes to exit out the sides behind the rear wheels so that I don't suck exhaust in when driving with the back window open.

Thanks for the suggestions, never thought of El Camino tailpipes. Sounds like I can put something together pretty easy.

FYI, dual exhaust was a factory option on Vistas with big blocks, but those pipes are long out of production.
