Anyone looking for factory OEM pattern style duel tailpipes for your 68-72 Vista. I found a source. Classic exhaust in Ohio 440-466-5460
They can be made in any dia.
They Fit perfectly

BTW they make 442 pipes as well. Also headpipes.

Nice .

X - 3 , on the information .
There is NO substitute for a quality exhaust system . One of the casualties of current muffler and exhaust shops , is that our current generation of technicians , just do not have the patience and curiosity to " GET " the importance of fit and finish .
I managed 3 different Midas shops in Minneapolis from 1985 - 1995 . We would do 2 - 4 custom sets of dual exhaust systems every week . There are definitely advantages to having the best of the best , and when it is done right it shows... Good stuff . JT

Please share the wisdom, senseis, but how does the Vista differ from the coupe or 4 door underneath? I assume the 4 door longer than the 2 door, and there is less of a hump over the rear wheels for the Vista?

In 68-72, the 2drs used a 112" wheelbase, the 4drs and flattops used a 116" wheelbase, and the VC used a 121" wheelbase. Also, the big difference is in the tailpipes, which was the whole point of the OP's first post. All wagon dual exhaust tailpipes exit behind the rear wheels, not out the back. The floorpan behind the axle is completely different in the wagons due to the gas tank and spare tire mounted in the quarter panels and the compartment for the third seat or cargo.

I ordered my stainless system today, probably 3 weeks out. Scott was also willing to substitute the factory 2" tailpipes for 2.25". I will post a picture upon installation. Thanks again for the reference

Apologies there friend, I appreciate your patience. (One plus years later). I have installed the system to the chassis, the only faux pax I've encountered was clearancing the driver's side for the lower/aft A arm knuckle. I've gathered from other members on the site as well as the original exhaust that this is a standard action. I will say that I had to heat the down tube orange hot and radius with a 32 oz ball peen and a 2" solid round stock die to make a clean radius on the 304 stainless. I had my rather stout machinist/welder friend hold the pipe while I accomplished this. We were surprised at how much abuse it took to make it happen, I'll take this as a testimony to the strength of the tubes.. I have not yet hammered down the clamps because I needed to get the body mounted, fuel tank installed and other details addressed before permanently clocking anything. Here are some photos of the chassis with the exhaust installed loosely with anti sieze. Once my car has returned from the body shop, and I've made the adjustments I'll make another post.. Thanks again for you patience.
