1956 Choke Heater Tube

I'm about to install a rebuilt Rochester 2 bbl on my '56 88 and the rebuilder suggested I clean-out the choke heater tube as he said it could get clogged over the years. Given that I don't believe it can be disconnected from the manifold, should I just insert a wire into it from the choke down the tube? Thanks

You could try soaking the choke stove with PB Blaster for a good week to see if you can loosen it from the manifold. If that doesn't work and you want to restore the choke stove you could always replace it with this kit:
