Choke Heat Tube

Good day all,

While cleaning the intake manifold on this 58 371, I see that the choke heat tube is gone. How necessary is it?

If you run the car in extremely cold weather you probably need to replace it ,or you could go to an electric choke. The heat coming through the bottom of carb keeps gas from crystalizing ,though ,in extremely cold weather. Best of luck, Larry

Thank you for your feedback. Someone did a mickey mouse universal choke stove on the exhaust manifold. I will see if I can replace the manifold tube.

Thanks again,

Stephen
