Vacuum wiper system plumbing drawing
I don't have a diagram, but most old vacuum wiper motors have a single rubber vacuum hose from the vacuum side of fuel pump to a nipple on vacuum wiper motor. These old motors mostly used leather membranes which dry out after many years and slow down or stop working.
The motor is usually mounted under dash with 2 machine screws or cap screws. Climb under your dash with a bright light and look for the motor. If the vacuum hose is dried out or cracked, old & brittle, replace it with fresh hose. If the motor is very slow, a trick we old timers use is to use a small plastic syringe and squirt about 1 or 2 capfuls (about a tablespoon worth) of
DOT 3 brake fluid into the vacuum port. Gently work the wiper arm lever back & forth by hand. Then, start the car and work engine at idle, plug the vacuum hose into the motor & turn the switch on. It should work fine if it's still any good. If not, it can be rebuilt with new seals, etc.
Best of luck,
Russ

Thanks for the info Russ, but my car isn't put back together yet. In fact, there isn't even a dash in it yet to look under! If you look at my post you will see at the bottom it says "my build", if you click on it you will see where I am at this point. Right now I am just gathering some future needed info as it has gotten too cold here to do much work in the garage. I may end up going to an electric wiper motor, but wanted to try the stock vacuum set up first.
Under my signature that says "47 Model 66 Coupe(under construction!)" it says "My build" Doesn't that appear at the bottom of my post? I can see it when I post, so not sure why it isn't showing up when you view my posts
