Does this Bendix appear correct for a 55? Not sure what it came off of, or if any differences between what I think may be a 55 or 56 unit. Assuming it's correct, is this something fairly easy to rebuild, or should it be sent of to a specialty shop such as White Post? Thanks

Not sure if it's correct year, but I brought my 55's to a truck brake place to get rebuilt, as recommended by a local auto parts store. They had the parts and know how to do it. I believe you do need some special tools.

Yes ,that looks correct for a '55. I rebuilt mine and coaxed Eightbanger into rebuilding his.They are not that bad unless they have serious pitting on the cylinder inside! Larry
