FUEL PUMP on 1948 series 98
Pump failed. Now what do I do? I have searched for two days trying to find a diaphragm made with Viton. So far no luck. The research I have done states that Viton is the only material that will be impervious to E10 gasoline. I did find some with neoprene diaphragms however I have read and have an article that after testing they claim it is not suitable for E10 fuel. The E10 fuel has really been a costly headache or bane to all older autos. No thought to us older auto owners. They simply don't care and want them off the road for their new models. There may be an older kit for this pump which is an AC AJ series, part # 1537330. I have not searched on eBay for one as yet but wondering how the old diaphragms would hold up. I just had to replace the whole fuel line as it was plugged solid with gunk. Hard to understand. It did have a flex hose that is all plugged also and these flex hoses would leech with the E10 fuel. Does anyone have any info of where I could purchase a Viton replacement diaphragm or a kit that uses Viton? Need info badly.

Lee you can get a replacement fuel pump from Kanter.

I'm not sure if the diaphragm is viton or neoprene. I don't think they have rebuild kits available.
