Bellhousing Bolt Pattern 1931-1950

I am trying to help a friend out here. He has a great 31 Olds but the engine is a little weak. He would like to put a 1950 6 cylinder engine in it. Can somebody tell me if they know for sure if the bellhousing to the engine bolt pattern is the same on 1931 - 1950 6 cylinder engines.

Thanks Guys
