50 Tin Woodie
50 Tin Woodie
Hi Guys. My 50 Tin Woodie was just delivered and I'm trying to get familiar with it. I'm new to Olds so I'll have a lot of questions. Here are the first couple:
What was the original headliner configuration for this car? There is no headliner currently installed just 1 wire bow near the windshield and stamped steel "bows" behind that.
Does anyone have a recommendation for chromers (bumpers and grille)? I nearly choked when I got a sight unseen internet quote from one chrome shop in the Houston area. Nearly $4K for bumpers and grille.
The body looks pretty good (paint job sucks). I am missing the rear fender "knees" but the rest of the exterior trim is there.
I has a later model (56 324 I think) motor in it along with a 4 spd manual tranny. Engine runs good and tranny shifts fine. I haven't put it on the lift yet but will a little later today.
Any hints on what to look (or look out) for when im looking at the bottom?
I have attached a couple of photos. Thanks in advance for your help.
Bud
Congratulations. Pretty car. It reminds me of the one that sat outside the Waterloo, Iowa Fire Dept on sunny days for about 20 years. It was sold to a private individual and repainted gold and raced in stock eliminator with an automatic. Last I heard, that car was painted blue and had a hood scoop on it and still around Waterloo, Iowa.
If I remember correctly, the interior was also red. Sorry I can't help with the headliner. You need interior door panels. Thanks for sharing pics.

Sweet ride. Take a look at Ogden Chrome for your bumpers. https://www.ogdenchrome.com/
