How do you install transmission lines?

How do you install transmission lines?

1971 CS, 350 /TH350, with AC.
I am having issues with getting both lines to bolt onto the transmission, without interfering with each other.
If I install the top line (cold), then the top line is in the way of the bottom line or reverse.
The line I am calling the Cold line is the one with the sharp bends near the transmission and connects to the Top of the radiator. The Hot line is the one with a deep U bend closer to the radiator and connects to the bottom of the radiator.
The hot line should go to the bottom port on the transmission and the cold line on the top port on the transmission.
If anyone has any good pictures that would be helpful.
Thanks.

I think I got the two lines installed. I did the top first, then the lower.
I had to do a few minor bends to the lower line and lots of wiggling until the threads finally lined up. I’ll find out in a few days if they will hold.

I did discover a new leak.
The speedometer cable attachment point is leaking.
Do i just remove the bolt and put on some RTV?

Use no RTV for the leak. There are 2 seals it could be leaking from. Take the bolt out and pull out the whole piece with the gear. There is a large O-ring on that piece. There is also a small inner seal that's held in with a small clip that the speedo gear shaft passes through. Pull out the gear and look at it very closely to make sure it's not worn where it rubs the inner seal (common). Get the 2 seals first, or inspect first to see if you need a gear, also. It's an easy job.

Actually, now that it's morning...if you are talking about the cable that's in your pic leaking...that's not the speedometer cable. That is the detent cable I think, there is one small O-ring on that. That one is tricky to get out and in, it's like spring loaded with a small hook and tab arrangement. If it's that one let us know, we can re-advise you.

OK is not the speedo.
It is the cable in the picture, with the two Cooling lines
in the background.
Its on the passenger side of the car.
What ever it is, its leaking fast.
I have to keep a bucket under that spot all of the time.
When i wipe the bolt area clear of all red fluid so its pristine and then come
back 10 minutes later, its wet and red again all around that specific fitting area.
The leak does not appear to be coming
from the xmission lines or fittings. that section is dry.

Ok...yeah...that's the detent, kickdown or whatever cable. That end piece is plastic, it could be broken. There is a seal inside. I'm not real familiar with them. Look at this www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJM-ppV-L5U It's a really cheap job at a tranny shop.

So in theory, i do not have to take apart the transmission to replace the o-ring.
I just need to un-hook the transmission rod from the cable and slide over a new o-ring, or buy a new cable and o-ring.
