Hi! Coming home Sunday night I had an intermittent wire from the points to the coil. Fixed that, but the transmission now wouldn't go into low gear, starts out in high gear. Won't go into low gear with shifter either. The flip pitch switches work fine and the transmission reacts to them.

I changed the modulator with a tested, (vacuum applied, watched it work),NOS unit, still the same.
Should I be going after the governor or is there something else I should look at? No hints in the service manual, although I'm studying the valving...

I pulled the governor over the weekend, looks fine, working as it should and clean. Have to remove the valve body to get at the shift valve, maybe dirty or a broken spring?
