trans leak

trans leak

Trying to get my 71 W30 on the road for the first time since I bought it in 92.My problem now is the trans is pushing fluid out of the dipstick tube. i checked the vent but it seemed ok .what do i need to look at to fix this. Thanks for the help Tony

It could be the torque converter dying. Pretty sure mine did that when I imploded the converter at the track.

This is from a search...not personal experience...It may be low on fluid causing a foaming/cavitation??? Since the car sat since '92 the converter may have drained back and seeped out around the pan etc. Does the fluid look aerated???

Or overfilled.

trans leak

Thanks for all the replys.I used to drive on my street just to keep everything working so i kept an eye on all the fluids; so i dont think its that. I did have a mechanic change the filter and ATF a couple months back. Could the filter be clogged up causing this? Should i use an air hose to see if the vent is clogged? Thanks for the help.
