Transmission fluid coming out of filler tube

Before parking my car for a few weeks, I checked all fluid levels and every thing checked out o.k. Today I noticed a large puddle of trans. fluid under the car and traced it back to coming out of the top of the filler tube. The trans was not over filled so why would fluid come out of the top of the filler tube? The trans is a T H 400. Thanks!

The vent tube may be blocked, You can reach it from the bottom, (it's right in the middle of the case up front just as the bell housing start up to clear the converter)Plastic tube about 1/8in ID, doesn't take much to block it off, wasp love it. Good luck

Thanks I will check it. I've had several T H 400 trans. for a long time and never had this problem. I have had them leak where the tube goes into the trans. case but nothing like this. Thanks to all for any suggestions.
