throw out bearing
I am installing a Muncie m21 into my 1967 cutlass supreme. I received a hays clutch and pressure plate that included a short throw out bearing. I am thinking I need a long one, So which one do I need to install?
Please let me know what you have used or should use. I hate to assemble it and have to tear it apart again because of the wrong throw out bearing

I was looking at my Factory GM service manual on page 7-652 under clutch they show a picture with the 2 throw out bearings and for the 33 series it appears to be the long throw out bearing. I will install and see what happens. this is a diaphragm clutch.

Double check that as the 6 cylinder cars used the long one.

Ok I see now but the info is confusing. So the Heavy Duty applications use the short one and light duty the long one but what would be the differences to require this? Is there a different fork, pressure plate, that requires the long one? I would still use the one supplied with your new clutch.
