Tailshaft Length

Hi Everybody,

I think I may have asked this before, but is there a way to know what length the tailshaft is on my trans without getting under my car? I have a 350 motor with a TH350 trans. Basically, I'm trying to figure out which Gear Vendors unit to look at, if anyone is familiar with those. They have them for a TH350 shorty, 6" tailshaft and 9" tailshaft.

As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Bobby

Full size cars through the 1976 model year and long wheelbase Vista Cruisers (through the 1972 model year) got the long tailshaft. All others got the short. You didn't tell us year and model, so we can't provide more detailed info. Of course, this only applies to the original trans. If the trans has been replaced or swapped, all bets are off.
