What all has to be done to switch out the tailshaft of a TH-400 from a short shaft to a longer one?

 

I have 2-3 long shaft t400 if you want I will trade out the correct parts to go the longer shaft.......

Its not to bad of swap for your transmission rebuilder,Its all apart anyways.....Tail shaft,Inner drive shaft and a few seals and such.....

 

Step 1: Completely disassemble trans
Step 2: Reassemble trans with shorter output shaft and tailhousing.

Unfortunately the output shaft is the last part out of the case and the first one back in.

 

I have two TH-400's one short tail and one long tail. I just purchased the rebuilt short shaft and I was wanting to use the long shaft from my previous transmission, but I see thats out of the question now because another rebuild is out of the budget
