Slim Jim/Roto Hydramatic

Hi. I'm looking for a recommendation for a transmission expert in the Los Angeles area familiar with troubleshooting/adjusting linkage, etc. on my '64. Thank you in advance. - Greg

I have a good guy n Chico California(Transmatic) that does Slim- Jims but that's a long way up North. Have you tried looking at Hemmings Motor News. Often there is a list of transmission specialist in their magazine..... Tedd

Tedd, I'm surprised that you knew of a Slim-Jim expert. There can't be many left in the country.

Hell, he is my Slant Pan expert also and he is good. Used to be a Oldsmobile racer back in the 60's, Probably forgot more about first generation transmission than I ever will learn, Owns Transmatic transmission shop and is probably 85 years young.

When ever I leave my 55 there for any reason he and his wife take it out for a evening cruse top down, big smile is had by all..... Tedd

There is a procedure for adjusting the " slim Jim " outlined in the 1963 Motor's Auto Repair manual .
I does not involve any special tools;
