Sealant for trans gasket
There is nothing required. The biggest issue is don't overtighten the fasteners and distort the pan rail. This probably causes more leaks than anything. I sometimes use a little high-tack to hold the gasket in place on the pan, but this can be a real pain when it's time to remove it. The other trick is to tie the gasket to the pan using thread through a few of the bolt holes. The thread is small enough that it doesn't affect sealing and there's no adhesive to scrape off the next time.
