Angry Overfilled transmission

Accidentally overfilled my Jetaway today. Any ideas aside from completely draining by removing the oil pan cover and replacing the gasket?

Most parts houses carry a syphone tool for this issue. It looks kind of like a grease gun and has a hose you put in the fill tube and pull the handle to draw out the fluid.

We have all been there.

X3.

Less than $20 for an oil sucker to stick down there and pull the extra out.

You need one anyway, because you can also use them to push oil into transmissions and differentials where you don't have the clearance to pour oil into them.

If he googles "syphone," he'll get nowhere fast as there is no such word. Google, which usually saves people from misspelled search terms, doesn't help in this case as it diverts you to "syphon," which is Apple/Mac software.

Except that it's not even a siphon.

A siphon is started with suction, then continues to flow because of gravity and molecular adhesion.

The device in question is simply a suction device.

I always just cracked the bottom line at the radiator and put a pan underneath. Crank it it up until you think you've enough out, tighten and check.

See my updated link above. If you don't have one, eventually you'll run into a case where you could use it. Cheap insurance against things like a brake fluid reservoir overfill.

Done that too, and with power steering. Just use an old terry cloth towel
to suck it up and toss it. If there's a way, a po boy will find it.
