How do I remove the front seal on a TH350?

The engine is out of the car. Before I put it back in I want to the replace the converter to pump seal on the front of the trans... The torque converter is out too. Do I just try to pry it out with a screwdriver, or is there some other technique? Thougt I'd ask before I start prying. Thanks. Tom.

The "official" way is the special Kent Moore tool, but if you can pry it out without damaging the input shaft, that works. Another trick is to drill three small holes in the steel housing of the seal (use wheel bearing grease to contain any chips) and insert three sheet metal screws. This will give you something to pull on.
