is it possible to mount a crossmember with a Th400 in this way to the frame?

The solid plate measure nearly 0,3937".

The only problem with that method is that you'll be pushing the crossmember (and thus the trans output shaft) that much closer to the floor, which could lead to the driveshaft rubbing on the floor under a hard bump. Rather than a thick piece like that, consider using a piece of angle iron, with the vertical flange against the frame rail. That will be at least as stiff as the thick bar but won't raise the trans nearly as much.

The first year for a T400 in a Cutlass was 1967. The convertible frames had another piece welded behind the original crossmember mounting "tongues" and at the same height. I suggest that you do something like that.

here is a photo. In the rear of the photo you see the floor jack (toward the front of the car). Near the jack is the standard 1964-66 mount for the cross member. In the foreground of the photo is the second welded in piece for a turbo 400 on this 1967 frame. The 1967 added piece welds to the earlier piece and has a "leg" at the rear. The early piece has two legs, front and back.

Thanks a lot for the info and pic...

The previous owner have bolt this plates, think i would only stiff the plates( to the frame) because till now the driveshaft don´t rubbing and i see it´s enough room between the trans and the floor....so maybe it´s ok.

At a minimum, I'd make an extension plate with a step in it to get the cross member to stock height. It would also be worthwhile to make a bracket that bolts to the frame for stability. I wouldn't want my Turbo 400 mounted with the chance of moving around like the previous owner had it. You could tear the rubber in the mount, or even crack the tranny case. Doing it right won't cost much; the downside from breakage could be expensive and parts could be hard to find in the Fatherland.

You are right, but before i lower the cross member i must check the Motor mounts because i measure 7°-8° degree (down) at the Transm. so maybe the lovely Pre-owner have bolt SB.Motor mounts to the existing BB.Frame Mounts.....but that´s another long Story like the rear end (other Spring perches and Arm mounting points).....

I will open another Thread......
