200-4R transmission question
Having quirks with my newly built 200-4R. It had low pressure issue and ultimately failed but fortunately the builder rebuilt it under warranty and I had them put in a transgo HD kit. Greatly improved pressures but now I’m experiencing stacked shifts. ~7, 15, 25mph for fist 3 gears. Yes TV setup is correct (geometry, cable etc) and per transform instruction. I took the pan off and removed the TV valve to install a different spring. After cleaning and inspection, I found the plunger movement in the sleeve was binding slightly (rough motion). Since new TV sleeve/plunger are hard to find I was able to source a good used VB. I removed its TV assembly and movement is smooth, however the sleeve is steel and not aluminum like my original. Before I reassemble, Is a steel TV plunger sleeve for 200-4R an update/correct?? Same physical size with some differences in groves.

Each VB is different and has a code on the side usually in yellow or pink Ink. Pulling parts from different codes yields different results. I would spend the money and send your VB to Lonnie at Extreme automatics or send him a good core. For few hundred bucks you will have a known BR calibration (turbo buick).
