For a 1970 Cutlass.
I just ordered a lower rad hose from Fusik, who advised me that the hose for a non AC/HD Cool application (2 core rad) was the same as for an AC/HD Cool application (3/4 core rad). They just stamp a different part number on it.

Both the Olds Parts Catalog and the Assembly Manual call for a different hose for AC and Non AC.

Now, I would think that the hose length/shape would be different between a 2 core and 3/4 core radiator.

Can anyone advise me on this?
I have searched a years worth of posts and none are specific to this.

I did fine a reference to different transmissin cooler lines being required when switching to a 4 core rad. Can anyone confirm that.

I have similar question as pcard.

This is for a 455 in a Cutlass S that originally had a sb Rkt 350 and a 2 or 3 core in it. It now has 455 and 4 core rad. The lower rad hose has rubbed against idler arm bolt and has dug into hose over time. Id say the bolt has rubbed half way through the hose at this point. It looks like the correct hose in comparison to many 455's on the web. But one on there now seems to have to travel up the pump nipple too far to avoid the bolt and just barely at that. It seems odd that the design of this would be so close to these idler arm bolts. So something definitely isnt right with this setup on mine.

#1 Is the lengths of the lower rad hose different between 2\3 core and 4 core rads, or 350 and 455 setups?
#2 Is this normal, the amount of hose on pump nipple? I had to push it this high to get it off the bolt. You can see in the pics the indents,

#3 what is the right lower rad hose for this setup I have?

I just put a 4 core ( non harrison ) in my 70 cutlass S. The issue I had was with the non harrison; this non orig FE harrison lower tank outlet is a smaller dia so the oem hose was to big. I did notice that the orig FE rad outlet dia is the same as my orig dia 442 hd cooling outlet, so both these look the same. What I used in my application with my aftermarket rad was a 1971 cutlass lower hose from Napa. I had to trim it at the lower outlet to prevent kinks, but it still rest on the idle arm. Oh ... fyi no spring in these napa hoses either.
