Another steering box question.
Another steering box question.
I want to put a fast ration box in the 69. I know the 93-96 Grand Cherokee boxes will work. That is one option and maybe the easiest.
I have also read that the box from an 83-88 Monte Carlo SS will work. Does anyone know for sure if it has to be from an SS Monte Carlo, or will any Monte Carlo do. I know some of the Firebird and Camaro will work, but that will be too hard to find cheap.
Thanks

i believe speedway motors can supply you with a quick ratio box for your 69.if you go the 93 -96 cherokee route your steering shaft will need to be changed because the spline count is different on you 69 rag joint.as well as your power steering lines (if it is power steering ).this is generally a gbody swap but im sure it can be done with the 69 .There are experts here more qualified than i ,that can help with this .
Fazer,
Check out this link and make sure you know what you actually are trying to achieve. I was confused by the term "fast ratio" when I wanted to upgrade my box. You can also call the owner Marty at 417.374.7627 and he will answer any questions you may have. He's been doing these boxes for years and knows his stuff.I just got mine back from him but haven't installed it yet. If it performs as good as it looks I will be a happy camper.
