Better steering box for my '79 Holiday?

I was hoping there was a quick ratio steering box that will fit my '79 Holiday, maybe one from a 80's Camaro / Firebird with a pitman arm change?

My steering box is leaking around the pitman arm seal, so I was planning on going to the junkyard this Saturday, I can get one for cheap. But if I can get one off a F body and get that nice steering, I'd be real happy. I know someone who can swap the pitman arm.

Thanks for any info you can give, I know this has been gone over before, but hey, I forget things.

I swapped a Monte SS quick ratio box into my 1984 Custom Cruiser and it made a big difference. You can also have your original box rebuilt by Power Steering Services.

Ah alright, not really an option to wait on a rebuild, this thing is leaking something fierce. Wish I could find an SS box, but from what I've read, from 77-9x(?) they had 30 spline input shafts on all the boxes, but in 80(?) they switched to metric fittings?

Think I'm just gonna check the box on my wrecked car and see if it's straight, save this project for later I suppose. Thanks for the info though.

The metric fittings are no big deal. You can use the later hoses, or get adapter fittings from Speedway Motors. Power Steering Services also sells rebuilt boxes on an exchange basis. Just send back your old one as a core. You can get original or quick ratio builds.
