I am starting to reassemble my front suspension on my 66
I have a 7/8 Center link but it seems I ordered the 13/16 idler arm ..
does anyone happen to know the correct part # for the 7/8’s ?
I can’t seem to find one
The GM part number for the idler used with the 7/8 center link is 5699538, but I'm only showing that for the 1964-65 model years. All 1966-72 cars (and 64-65 with the 13/16 center link) use P/N 7801909.
Looks like you’re doing a very nice and tidy restore.
I saw online that a guy who’s done two 396 Chevelle and other Cherie guys swear that the upper part of the idler arm was black while the bottom was raw.
Any validity to this? And was it done on Oldsmobiles?

well lets this this for the third time... my replys are not getting posted for some reason
Thanks Joe i found the idler arm right away looking under 65 stuff..
the only thing i can think of is my 66 is a early car and Canadian... maybe transfered unused 65 parts in the next model year
