Do you have a SBO or BBO, any front end mods, front springs sagging? Do you have a picture of the underside of the car showing clearance.

BAAAAD idea. The car will look like a 4x4 and handle like one as well. For a "cheep" fix, get chickens, but for a CHEAP fix, buy some 2x12s to lay on the ground where you drive the car up the driveway.

I'm gathering parts to renovate the entire suspension/steering/running gear, etc. of my '68 442. Because: 1)the original springs were sagging to the max and the front have spacers installed by previous owner , 2)I want to run slightly larger tires, 3)will be installing headers when I get to that part of the resto, AND 4)I like the look - I bought new springs, F&R, that are 1 inch taller than stock.

Well...in my younger years, I did manage to put a set of BBO long tubes on a SBO and they were pretty damned close to the ground. This is a real question because they are hard to distinguish...are you SURE you have SBO headers? BBO are 1 inch lower to the ground than SBO if I am not mistaken. Because the higher deck height, in order to put the collector at the same level as the SBO, the BBO are 1 inch taller from the bottom of the collector to the top of the flange. I like the 2x4 idea the best

I like 2x4 idea also, especially if this is a temporary issue.
