Driveway Undercar cleanup - How do you do it?

A rotating assembly and/or lift is for you rich types. Just wondering how the rest of you do the undercarriage work. Paint Suit, goggle's and a hoodie?

Yea....goggles, rain suit, gloves you bet.

The first order of bizness is get the car up in the air. Then go to town

Lots of elbow grease with the tools of the trade. Scrapers, putty knives wire brush, maybe an electric drill/grinder with a wire cup brush. I don't like to use solvents but carb cleaner and rags or maybe...diesal fuel and a paint brush.....and more rags and more scrapping and more rubbing.... None of that is good for your health though it might improve you upper body strength

I would rather use bio-degradable detergents and high pressure water if possible. But of course, this just leads to more rust if you don't cover the underbody soon with paint. Yea, complete diss-assembly and a rotory stand would be nice huh?

And when your all done, you get to clean the driveway

Well, at least its getting nice and warm out. Water will feel good.

Friend of mine has a audio shop and shares space with a detailer. Gave me this stuff called "Brown" (at least thats what he calls it). Supposed to do magical things with rust and a pressure washer.

Let the fun begin.

I know at farm and fleet they have engine degreaser in 5 gal containers. You might want to get that and a pump style tree sprayer to get it soused into all the nooks and crannies before you start. The stuff is supposed to be "green" and would save boat loads of grumbling and cussing. I have tried this on my truck with ammonia...it helped. It's due for a good blowdown again, and I will be trying the degreaser this time.
