Coil Over on Stock Control Arm

On a 1970 Cutlass:
is it safe to install coil over systems on stock front control arms?

Depends on the attach points. If it only bolts to the stock shock attach points, I'd be concerned. If the mounting somehow spread the load more to the area where the stock spring loads are carried, then no problem.
