Mondello Block Off Plates

I am wanting to block off the heat riser passages in my number 5 heads because I am using a FiTech 30020 Classic Fuel injection system with an Edelbrock 2711 intake manifold. I have some stainless steel Mondello Heat Riser Block Off Plates that have indents intended to go in the head's heat riser ports. The plates are .024" thick. I also plan on using SCE AccuSeal Pro Intake Gaskets number 279101 that are .062" thick. I am planning to use SCE Gasgacinch sealer on the intake ports and Permatex Optimum Grey around the block off plates and coolant ports. Along with Permatex Ultra Black on the China walls. I am a little worried about the block off plates lifting up the gasket and not sealing properly. Has anybody used the Mondello Block Off Plates? How did you install them? Did you trim the intake gasket or just lay the gasket on top of them?

Thanks,
Noel

Throttle body fuel injection systems still have the same fuel atomization problems as carburetors. Why do you think that simply bolting on a TBI system can eliminate the need for intake manifold heating?

I manufactured my own block off plates out of a tin can. I installed them between the heads and a fiber gasket. They worked ok I guess.

Initially, I tried to make block off plates out of a soda/beer can. I installed them the same way but the aluminum burned through.

Eventually, I just removed the block off plates and went to the FelPro metal intake manifold gasket.
