Exhaust Valve Spring Part No. - 7a Heads

Hello Everyone,

Today I found a broken exhaust spring on my 350 that has 7a heads (subscript 'a', so 1972 I believe). The spring has a damper inside it, as well as a valve rotator.

I am trying to find the correct stock replacement spring, but everyone I find is listed as 1964-1971, so I am not sure if is it same...

Does anyone here have access to a resource that could tell me what the correct part number is for a stock exhaust valve spring?

Thank you!

Here’s a listing. I don’t know the dimensions to ensure this is what you’re looking for.

The factory part number in the January 1972 parts book is different for 1972 vs 1971-down. OEM part number for the exhaust valve spring with damper is 411225, which is also shown as correct for both valves on the 1972 455 motors. Having said that, the May 1980 parts book shows 411225 as superseding pretty much every spring on earlier engines. There are several NOS 411225 springs on ebay, and the application years are all over the map. Ignore that and just search by part number.

I would replace all the springs, dampeners, seals, and locks. Springs break from fatigue. We replace springs on garage doors nearly everyday and the side that didn't break is just as "used" as the broken one and on the short list of lifespan !
